Unraveling fashion future

[ONGOING PROJECT]
By 2023 an EPR policy will ensure that Dutch textile producers take responsibility for the waste they produce. However, as the system goes today, there is no alternative to waste sorting organisations that collect and sell the clothes to Global South countries, polluting grounds and harming people’s health.

‘Unraveling fashion future’ toolkit is a scenarios-building workshop for city-scale clothes waste management. A mediator guides the participants through fashion consumption and waste data with numbers sheets and maps of their city/ study-case, allowing them to share their professional knowledge over flows, materials, infrastructures... Step by step they position themselves on the board using markers. Together participants can try different scenarios considering each actor’s interests and challenges, and find the path they want to take.
